Job Description:
Callahans Mountain Lodge, a family owned landmark (Est. 1947), is seeking a team player who will offer exceptional service in an extraordinary setting. The lodge is in a panoramic canyon on Interstate 5 at the Mount Ashland Ski Resort Exit 6, just ten minutes from the city of Ashland.
Our Lodge Front Desk Manager ensures that hotel and restaurant guests receive hospitable and responsive service at check-in, during their stay, and upon departure, ensuring guest satisfaction and loyalty. This key management team leader handles financial transactions accurately and maintains required systems and records.
Specific customer service duties include:
Accurate and cordial handling of guest reservation, check-in, check-out, payment, including credit card and cash handling procedures
Proficient administration of the hotel's electronic reservation system
Prompt, friendly response to guest requests or concerns with follow-up to ensure satisfaction
Compliance with hotel safety programs and procedures, including emergency and security systems
Requirements
Experience in accurate cash handling and credit cards
Experience in maintaining security of confidential information, including guest registration and credit card information
Experience working with a computer, including data entry
Ability to work well with others
Customer Focus, including experience in anticipating guest needs and responding pleasantly and professionally
Listening skills to ensure accurate understanding of guest wishes
Composure to work effectively under pressure and to address and resolve guest problems or concerns
Approachability to encourage effective communication with guests and fellow team members
Skills required for position:
- Previous hotel experience preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Pleasant personality and ability to deal with wide variety of people.
Business Skills:
Excellent time management skills.
Strong customer service orientation and skills.
Follow and apply company policies and procedures.
Resolve problems.
Minimum Experience, Education, Skill & Physical Requirements:
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
Must be flexible in hours and available on weekends and Holidays.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time
Must be able to lift 25 50 lbs and carry up to 10 lbs
Must have sound judgment and be able to work with little or no supervision.
Must be able to operate basic office machines, i.e., copier, fax, printer, etc.
Must display very good organization and time management skills.
Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with many types of personalities
Experience:
Customer Service: 1 year (Preferred)
Education:
High school or equivalent (Preferred)
