Overview

Full-time position: Sun “ Wed, 8a to 6p

The Addictions Counselor provides evidence-based individual and group counseling, as well as psycho-education, to individuals with substance abuse and co-occurring mental health issues. This position is responsible for providing assessments, screenings, client-driven treatment plans, and counseling. Works effectively as an integral part of service teams in a secured residential setting.

Responsibilities

Performs comprehensive A&D assessments that meet the ASAM criteria. Provides co-occurring and addictions treatment to clients both individually and in groups. Plans and performs a wide variety of paraprofessional duties to assist in delivering services to clients. Submits timely documentation of services provided using Electronic Health Records and collaborative documentation.

Qualifications

Candidate must possess CADC I or CADC II, as well as specific experience with adults who have emotional and/or mental disabilities and substance abuse/addiction. CADC II is preferred.

Qualified applicants will also have the following experience/education:

Bachelors (BA/BS) degree in a human services field, OR

Three years of experience providing services in a similar setting with individuals who have emotional and/or mental disabilities, OR

A combination of education and experience that provides the desired skills, knowledge, and abilities required to perform the job.

Related experience is preferred. Computer proficiency is required to use Electronic Health Records.

Must pass state-required background and DMV checks, possess a valid driver's license, and have a safe driving record. Candidate must also be able to work independently and flexibly, under general supervision.

About the CRC:

Options Crisis Resolution Center (CRC) is an innovative, inpatient hospital diversion and respite program that opened as the first of its kind in Oregon 18 years ago. This dynamic program offers psychiatry, nursing, mental health therapy, co-occurring disorders treatment, gambling treatment, and skills training services for individuals from all walks of life. This 15 bed, secure, short term, transitional program works closely with a large network of programs within Options and with multiple community partners to help individuals along their recovery path. In addition, the CRC houses the 24/7 mobile crisis and outreach team.
