About the Program

Our Outpatient Program provides assessment and evaluation, treatment plan development, and provides clinically indicated outpatient therapy, case management, skills training, and psychiatric (medication) services.

About the Position

We have a Full-Time opening for Support Specialist QMHA/Peer at our Downtown/Central Clinics in Medford, OR. If you have experience working as a Direct Support Professional (DSP), Residential Assistant (RA), Residential Counselor, Skills Trainer, or Caregiving for a client suffering with mental illness (e.g. memory care unit at an Assisted Living Facility), then this position might be a good fit for you.

Work Schedule: Monday- Friday 8:30am-5:30pm

This position requires that applicants have the ability to work as a member of a direct care team serving adults with severe and persistent mental illness. Clinic greeter will foster a warm and welcoming atmosphere while clients wait for first appointment. The primary function of this position will be to assist individuals with completing intake documentation on paper or electronically; assure the client knows how to navigate ColumbiaCare Outpatient Services (understanding when and where their next appointment is, reviewing cancellation and no-show policy, etc.);help navigate access to other community resources, and help them troubleshoot through challenges like, problem solving access issues, reminders, transportation, etc.). Must be willing and able to successfully complete our Verbal and Physical Intervention (VPI) training, which requires performing various physical, hands-on maneuvers and techniques.

Qualifications

MUST have personal experience with mental illness and the ability to effectively manage own symptoms.

MUST be both certified and registered as a Peer Support Specialist through the Oregon Health Authority:

OR

MUST meet State of Oregon QMHA credentials:

a) Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or Human Development;

b) OR THREE YEARS of verifiable mental health experience working with SPMI population in a supervised social service setting;

c) OR equivalent combination of behavioral science education in addition to satisfactory supplemental mental health experience and training

Successful applicants MUST also have a valid Oregon driver’s license, maintain a safe driving record, and the ability to pass a DHS criminal background check.

Pay & Benefits

$15.00-$16.50 per hour/DOE and QMHA credentials.
