We currently have an opening for a full-time Pharmaceutical Powder Weighing Technician. Our specialty is compounding prescription medications. One of our chemists is heading to Graduate School thereby creating an opening on staff.

This position pulls from inventory, scans, and weighs pharmaceutical powders on an electronic balance (scale) and then passes the powders to another technician to form the powder into capsules, lozenges, creams, liquids, suppositories, suspensions, etc.

POSITION SUMMARY: Train for 90-days, then:

This position uses an electronic balance (analytical scale) in a laboratory to weigh pharmaceutical powders and liquids in preparation for making compounded drug products. This position also makes some of the compounded drug products. We are looking for someone with a science degree or equivalent experience in a laboratory setting to work alongside 5 other chemists to get the products prepared.

This position would work well for either someone already working in a scientific or medical laboratory who would like to upgrade their skills or for a new graduate with a science degree such as chemistry, biology, microbiology, or other laboratory-type degree who is looking for a career working in a laboratory.

This position is full-time and is available immediately. However, for the right applicant if in school, this position could start part-time until graduation, then go full-time.

This position works in a fully-accredited USP laboratory. We are PCAB/ACHC-accredited in both sterile and nonsterile compounding of drug products and are fully USP-Compliant with our processes.

REQUIREMENTS:

Must agree to work with the highest level of accuracy, honesty, integrity, and compassion for the betterment of the lives of others. Must be able to lift approximately 35 pounds (ie carry a case of paper) as part of daily routine. Must be able and willing to pass a drug test initially and on an ongoing basis. Must work well both individually and as part of a team.

Position has a great work schedule and is M-F 9am-5:35pm with 30-minute lunch, and with an occasional (once per month) Saturday 9am-2pm. Competitive pay is dependent on laboratory experience, but could start at $16+/hr to train, depending on experience, and then increases once trained. We have an IRA-based retirement program and match up to 3% contribution (after waiting period), and also a generous 2-weeks paid time off (PTO) earned over time after waiting period. We also offer (after waiting period) seven paid holidays on the seven holidays we are closed each year. We do not offer health insurance at this time, but we are considering it sometime during the 2019 year. Occasional opportunity for overtime.
