Purpose of Position:
The Water Distribution Specialist is a hands-on position that works on the operation and maintenance of the water distribution system and storage tanks following discharge from the water treatment plants.
Mandatory Requirements:
Minimum education is a high school diploma or equivalent. Within 1 year of employment employee must have First Aid, CPR and flagger’s certifications. Within 2 years, as a condition of employment, an Oregon Health Authority’s (OHA) Water Distribution Level 1 is required. Experience in construction or water distribution systems is a plus. This position will be available for “on call” on a rotating basis. Employee will drive the company vehicle and a clean driving record is required.
Physical Demands of Position:
Work is performed both indoors and outdoors, often in inclement weather. Work is performed in ditches and may be in vaults and sometimes close to fast moving vehicular traffic. Employee must be able to lift heavy (over 50 lbs.) tools, equipment and materials. Work involves physical activities including, but not limited to walking, standing, kneeling, bending, stooping, lifting, climbing and twisting.
Work is performed under the general supervision of the Lead Water/ Distribution Specialist and/or District Manager.
