Full Time Wire Rope, Rigging, and Hydraulic Position Available (Astoria, OR)
Englund Marine and Industrial Supply, a leader in the Marine, Fishing, and Industrial industry is looking for an experienced wire rope, rigging, and hydraulic shop person for our Astoria, OR location. The ideal candidate is a hard-working team player who has a cheerful, upbeat personality, who wants to be an active driver of the success of the company where they work!
Duties include but are not limited to:
Fabricate wire rope and cordage assemblies
Swaging and splicing of wire and cordage
Identifying and fabricating hydraulic hose assemblies
Work directly with fishing boats, logging, and construction companies
Working with retail customers to find the right parts for their needs
Purchase products direct from vendors and project inventory for peak seasons
Skills Required:
Physical strength, ability to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time
Excellent phone skills for both customers and vendors
Possess excellent attention to detail
Outstanding customer service skills
Forklift operation and ability to pass certification course
Ability to use necessary tools, machines, and equipment
Computer experience a big plus
Time Requirements:
Job is Monday through Friday with some occasional Saturday’s during the year
Base hours are 7:30am through 5:30pm
Longer hours are sometimes required during busy times or special events
