Sport Tackle Purchasing Agent / Retail Sales Position (Astoria, OR)
Englund Marine, a leader in the Marine and Fishing industry is looking for a Sport Tackle Purchasing Agent / Retail Sales person for our Astoria, OR location.
This position will coordinate the procurement of sport tackle items and will be working with and supporting all seven of our retail locations. In addition to purchasing duties, this position includes retail sales responsibilities. The required sales floor hours for this position will vary season to season.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Monitor and analyze sales records, trends, or economic conditions to anticipate consumer buying patterns and determine what the company will sell and how much inventory is needed.
Search inventory records or warehouse to determine if material on hand is in sufficient quantity
Consults catalogs and interviews suppliers to obtain prices and specifications
Writes or types purchase order and sends copy to supplier and location originating request.
Compares and negotiates prices, specifications, and delivery dates and places orders with vendor
Communicate with managers from seven locations to verify and confirm material needs
Research hard to find product to help people find those parts that are not currently in stock. We pride ourselves in helping each and every customer fill their boating and fishing needs!
Working with retail customers to find the right parts for their needs
Process customer orders using a computer system
Merchandise the store to facilitate additional sales
Skills Required:
KNOWLEDGE OF FISHING A MUST, boating and marine products knowledge a plus.
Knowledge of federal and state fishing regulations a plus
Experience with purchasing methodology and software a plus
Excellent attention to detail
Outstanding customer service skills
Time Requirements:
Job is Monday through Friday with some weekends during the year
Base hours are 7:30am through 5:30pm
Longer hours are sometimes required during busy times or special events
