The Ashcraft Agency is looking to immediately fill a Customer Service position at our award-winning Allstate office in North Portland. The customer service representative, or CSR, will act as a liaison, provide product/services information, and resolve any emerging problems that our customer accounts might face, with accuracy and efficiency. The best CSRs are genuinely excited to help our clients and prospects! We are looking for someone who is patient, empathetic, and passionately communicative.

CSRs can put themselves in the customers’ shoes and advocate for them when necessary. Problem-solving comes naturally to customer care specialists, so we want someone who is confident at troubleshooting and able to investigate if they don’t have enough information to resolve customer complaints.

This role will also entail helping customers with billing and claim questions, making changes to insurance policies, answering general insurance questions, and meeting overall customer needs. The target is to ensure excellent service standards, respond efficiently to customer inquiries, and maintain high customer satisfaction.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Manage incoming and outgoing calls to/from customers and prospects

- Identify and assess customers’ needs to achieve satisfaction

- Build sustainable relationships and trust with customers through open and interactive communication

- Provide accurate, valid, and complete information by using the training for the methods/tools provided by the company

- Meet personal/customer service team goals

- Handle customer complaints, provide appropriate solutions and alternatives within the time limits; follow up to ensure resolution

- Keep records of customer interactions in company systems

- Generate sales leads for the sales team

- Go the extra mile to engage customers

SKILLS

- Proven customer support experience

- Strong phone contact handling skills and active listening

- Working knowledge of primary computer programs

- Customer orientation and ability to adapt/respond to different types of characters

- Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbally and written

- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively

- High school degree

- Positive attitude with friendly demeanor towards customers and coworkers

This is a full-time, in-office position where appropriate Covid-19 precautions are being taken.

COMPENSATION

- $15/hour ($17/hour if OR Property+Casualty licensed)

- 2 weeks Paid Time Off
