Our company is looking for a Data Center Engineer to join our data center team. We strongly prefer candidates with a bachelor’s degree in computer science, and it is essential that you have a firm grasp of network storage principles and architecture. Duties/Tasks:
Conduct full supply/hardware inventory and document.
Order and organize cabling for current and future projects.
Conduct full PDU review/audit/reconfigure and mgmt.
Conduct full power distro review for PSU redundancy.
Integrate iDRAC with LDAP everywhere.
Assist with PAC VM (5.5 to 6.7) migrations.
Assist with QCY 5.5 decom of ESXi and related hardware.
Rack and stack new ESXi 6.7 hosts (36 total) in Q2/3.
Complete cardboard eviction from DC spaces and necessary physical storage changes.
Workspace revamp in 621 storage room (furniture, workstation, comms.)
Procure and implement additional material and system storage options in Pittock/PAC.
Dead HDD consolidation and disposal <<< lead and manage.
Audit and further implement OpenManage Enterprise, in an effort to completely monitor hardware health of physical servers.
Remove old network gear from racks post decommission.
PIT621 cable cleanup and management.
Assist with rack & stack of new network switches and other gear.
Assist with cable tracing and troubleshooting network connectivity.
New cabling runs for the infrastructure we are purchasing.
Assist with Data Recovery Corruption efforts on EqualLogic Volumes.
Assist with Data Copy Migration from EqualLogic to Isilon.
Assist with Patching/FW updating on Isilons during Scheduled Windows.
Assist with BIOS/LC2/iDRAC/FW/etc updates on 13/14G Servers.
Assist with Controller FW upgrades on Unity platforms.
