Description:Providence is calling a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) (1.0 FTE, Days) to Providence Cedar Hills Home Services in Portland, OR.We are seeking a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant that will be under the supervision of the occupational therapist, provides skilled occupational therapy to patients/clients with a wide variety of diagnoses and disabilities in a home setting in accordance with a physicians plan of treatment, taking into account individual patients special physical or age-related needs. Assesses needs and provides COTA plan for services and direct treatment. The COTA functions as a member of the inter-disciplinary team.In this position, you will have the following responsibilities:

As established by the Occupational Therapist, provides treatment and therapeutic activities to assist with daily living performance as ordered by the physician.

Report observation of patients/clients reaction to treatment to the occupational therapist.

Manage a caseload as assigned by the occupational therapist

Manage and use equipment safety and properly to ensure a safe environment.

Teach/instruct patient and caregivers to assist in achieving treatment goals.

Confer with occupational therapist, physicians, families, and other caregivers regarding treatment plans, expected results and goals.

Maintain patient clinical records to meet state, federal and other regulatory body standards.

Attend staff/team meetings and departmental mandatory continuing educational in-services. Demonstrate personal advancement of professional therapy practice through continuing education.

Qualifications:Required qualifications for this position include:

Associate's Degree on Occupational Therapy

1 year Clinical experience per the State of Oregon

Occupational Therapy Assistant licensure through the State of Oregon

Valid driver's license

Automobile liability insurance

Current BLS (American Association Basic Life Support for Health Care Provider) within 30 days of hire

In compliance with the Providence Health & Services-OR Human Resources policy #302 Background Checks, a criminal background check is required for this position, based on assigned duties

In-depth and up-to-date knowledge of occupational therapy, theory and practice, and the legal and ethical issues associated with them
