A successful Marketing/PR company is seeking a Controller through Robert Half to take responsibility for its accounting and clerical department. You will succeed in this position if you can plan and direct all accounting operational functions, handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluate accounting and internal control systems, and lead departmental staff. Assess, execute and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Lead the operations of the finance department which includes accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Give executive committee and partners monthly financial reports
Collaborate with executive team and partners to support efficient and effective firm-wide operation
Prepare cash-flow reports that project cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and handle daily cash management
Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities
Manage the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is on time
Advance Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed, with research, planning and implementation
Manage monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, the reconciliations of accounts, and G/L analysis
Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor on a monthly basis

Ability to communicate verbally and in writing effectively throughout all levels of the company
Prior work done in public accounting is desired
Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred
Strong analytical skills, accuracy and attention to detail
Skilled in the construction and delivery of effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity
Adeptness in Prepare Journal Entries
Revenue recognition experience
Month-end Journal Entries experience highly desired
Demonstrated knowledge of Review Journal Entries
Practical knowledge of financial statement preparation
General familiarity with Financial Statement
Proficiency in journal entries
Foundational knowledge in Adjusting Journal Entries
Knowledge of Revenue Recognition Accounting
Past work in technology, analytics and management experience highly valued
Ability to complete multiple tasks and projects within deadlines
