Description Dawoud Kazimee with Robert Half is looking for a diligent Controller to join our team in Portland, Oregon. As a Controller, you will have a crucial role in the financial management, including the development and implementation of financial policies, preparation of financial statements, and maintaining accounting records. This position is within the manufacturing industry and will involve overseeing the accounting and purchasing departments, providing strategic financial recommendations, and working closely with various teams.Responsibilities: Assist in the development and implementation of financial management goals, policies, priorities, and procedures. Supervise and participate in the preparation of various financial statements and reports. Prepare and present financial statements to various stakeholders. Direct the installation and maintenance of accounting records to show receipts and expenditures. Balance and reconcile month-end reports, accounts, and General Ledger. Direct the maintenance of general and subsidiary ledgers, accounts receivable, revenue distribution, depreciation, cost, property, and operating expenses. Participate in cost analyses and rate studies. Prepare budgets, forecasts statements, and reports of estimated future costs and revenues. Direct internal audits involving review of accounting and administrative controls. Establish system controls for new financial systems and develop procedures to streamline existing systems. Coordinate preparation of external audit materials and external financial reporting. Review financial statements with management personnel and provide strategic recommendations and analysis of prudent financial ideas. Oversee the accounting and purchasing departments, which range from 3 to 6 team members. Job Order: 03600-0013070487Requirements Possession of a minimum of 5 years of experience in a Controller role or similar Proficient in Accounting Functions Demonstrated experience in Manufacturing Cost Accounting Solid understanding and practical application of Cost Accounting Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field preferred Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is highly desirable Proficient with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced knowledge of Excel Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Excellent problem-solving skills Strong organizational and multitasking abilities Proven leadership skills with a track record of developing and mentoring a team.
