RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Portland, OR that is seeking a Senior Software Engineer - Ruby on Rails. The candidate can start remote, however the position will be in Portland, OR. This is a long-term contract role with the possibility to extend indefinitely.
Job Description:
Our client is seeking an energetic and talented Senior Software Engineer to help deliver high value, high quality features to our industry leading eCommerce sites, specifically for their new brand in Portland, OR. As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll join a Scrum team building a critical function for their website related to payment implementation and credit card processing/authorization.
Job Duties:
Work with Architecture to craft technical designs and drive the evolution of our site architecture
Work in tandem with multiple groups to strategize and prioritize next generation product initiatives, develop processes and solutions, and drive projects to completion
Facilitate problem diagnosis and resolution in relevant areas
Drive change, including programs that improve developer productivity and reduce time to market
Assist Product Managers in designing and defining new features
Write code that is of high quality and consistent with our coding standards
Serve as a member of a Scrum team and participate in all planning, stand-up and retrospective meetings
Will be involved in design model, create and switch data, performance turning, etc.
REQUIREMENTS:
5+ years of experience as a professional software engineer, specifically with Ruby on Rails (open to mid-level or senior level candidates)
Good understanding and experience with a variety of web-related technologies (i.e., JavaScript, CSS, HTML, browser security, React.js, Node.JS, Anguar JS, Backbone.js) - someone who enjoys building features end-to-end
Retail/ecommerce and/or customer facing applications is a plus
Database/data storage experience - Understanding of efficient and effective schema use in databases within MongoDB, Postgres, MySQL or other relational databases; Redis is a Plus
