DescriptionIf you're an experienced Senior Accountant, Accountemps needs your professional know-how and leadership for an exciting short-term temporary opportunity in the Non-Profit industry! As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for cash flow analysis, budgets and forecasting, account analysis and reconciliations, financial statement preparation and consolidation, audit preparation, and internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. Put together monthly consolidated P&L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting
Continually improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process
Create analysis on financial results (trends, performance metrics, benchmarks)
Assist in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors
Participate in various initiatives spanning multiple departments
Operate with business partners to create compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures and controls and provide support on special requests
Other projects as required
Compose Balance Sheet account reconciliations
Implement monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables (journal entries, reconciliations, reports) in compliance with GAAP
Requirements
Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges
This role would be best suited to candidates with financial reporting proficiency
Proficient at analyzing financial data and promptly creating accurate reports
SOX internal control assessments (Section 404) experience
Microsoft Excel experience preferred
Financial statement preparation experience
Expertise in Financial Statement Audits
Financial Edge experience
Sharp, analytical thinking abilities, always seeking to draw connections and identify the "why"
Skilled with ERP systems
BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred
Minimum 5-7 years of overall general accounting experience
Ability to meet deadlines
Corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems experience a plus
Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are a must
Demonstrated skills in interacting effectively, both verbally and in writing, with functional managers
