Oregon Coast café, wine bar and winery in Manzanita is looking for experienced Assistant Manager. We are looking for a team member who are passionate about coffee, wine, customer service and our local community.

This position will require 40 hours per week in the summer with availability 5 days a week and the capability to close 5 days a week. Winter season work days may range to 2-3 days per week with an ability to close on the days worked as well. Must be able to provide coverage and managerial duties when manager is off duty. Operating hours are 8 am to 10 pm, 7 days a week in the summer.

The ideal candidate will provide outstanding customer service, have the ability to manage a team, provide feedback and have previous restaurant/café/winery experience as well as top notch coffee and specialty drink skills.

Compensation is $15-18/hour, depending on experience (DOE), plus tips. 1099 contractors only.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or GED (required); college degree (preferred)

• Previous restaurant/café/winery tasting room experience (2+years required)

• Experience managing a team of 4-8 people

• Experienced coffee (barista) knowledge and previous employment as a barista required; latte art skills required; espresso, coffee maker, coffee grinder equipment knowledge required

• Food preparation (sandwiches, salads, cheese and salami plates)

• Wine knowledge and experience (preferred)

• Sommelier Level I (preferred)

• Sales experience, upselling and closing the sale; POS experience required, preferably Square

• Oregon Food Handler's Card and OLCC Server's Permit

• Ability to act with a "customer comes first" attitude and deliver customer service that meets or exceeds customer expectations

• Ability to provide and receive constructive feedback to/from manager and other staff members

• Team player with strong problem solving skills

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment; ability to handle a challenging and multi-tasking environment

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships

• Ability to work independently and initiate tasks as needed

• Ability to settle and count cash drawers

• Excitement for our brand and product

• Ability to order and coordinate stock from vendors

• Ability to instruct other staff on coffee drinks and food preparation
