DesiPDX is a food cart serving Local Fare with Indian FlairĀ and we are looking for some help on weekend nights with taking orders and then shutting down the cart at the end of the night. This is not a cooking oriented job, primarily we need someone who is a rock star detail-oriented dishwasher/cleaner who will help offload the rest of the staff; however, there may be a bit of opportunity to do some light prep at the end of the night if that's something you are interested in stepping into. This is a part time (12-18 hours/week) gig that will likely last until the end of September; however, . our food cart pod has just completed a massive remodel with space heaters and we are hopeful that business will continue to boom into the fall and early winter!
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Handle taking orders and interface between kitchen and customers:
Take orders through the Square POS
Call out orders to the kitchen
Finish and garnish plates
Call out orders to customers
Clean the cart after service. This includes:
Putting away all leftovers
Cleaning all cooking and service utensils
Cleaning down all surfaces
Shutting down and cleaning all equipment
Filtering our deep fryer oil
Cleaning all customer utensils/plates (we proudly don't use disposables whenever possible!)
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
Oregon Food Handlers card valid for at least another 6 months
Ability to lift 25lbs
Ability to lift 10lbs overhead
Amazing communication skills
A quick learner. Seasonal stuff can change weekly and you need to be able to keep up with that when interacting with customers.
Experience interacting with customers - hosting, counter, etc
Detailed oriented cleaner
