The Kitchen Purchaser/Administrative Assistant is an essential member of the Kitchen Team. This role aids the Kitchen and Managers by completing administrative tasks in a timely and accurate manner. Providing support with skill and professionalism this role will include a wide variety of administrative functions. In addition to maintaining our vision by adhering to our values, this position must provide the highest level of service to our guests.

Perform clerical duties such as typing, filing, copying, emailing, answering and responding to telephone calls and messages, as well as coordinates, schedules.

Ordering of food from vendors and assist in inventory management of food and supplies.

Maintain records and reconciliation of food and supply invoices ensuring accurate record keeping and timely submittal to Accounting.

Manage employee tracking workforce hours including ensuring employee schedules are correct, making approved clock-in/out corrections and confirmation of employee Meal Breaks with payroll reporting submittal to Payroll.

Oversee payroll reporting including; employee clock-in and clock-out, Breaks, Sick Leave, Vacation, etc.

Perform routine inspections that comply with all nutrition, sanitation and safety regulations and standards.

Report unsafe working conditions, operational needs and equipment or aspects of the Kitchen in need of repair by submitting and follow through with maintenance requests.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Demonstrated competence with Windows based software including Microsoft Office, Word, Outlook, Excel and Micros.

Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive materials and information.

Excellent written communication skills, verbally and in writing.

Knowledge of basic office equipment.

Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills.

Accurate typing/data entry and editing skills; keen eye for detail.

Ability to trouble-shoot and resolve problems efficiently.

Some experience in the food handling industry is preferred but no cooking tasks required.

Ability to perform under pressure with accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks.

Must be comfortable working in a shared space, with constant noise, without the use of a private office.

Must be able to cope with frequent changing priorities and deadlines with a high degree of optimism, professionalism & collaborations.

Schedules may vary from week to week based on business demands with or without notice including weekends, nights, holidays.

Minimum Qualifications

2-5 years clerical or office management experience or job-related experience in high volume and/or multi-unit Food and Beverage operations or upscale hotel/restaurant.

Prior experience in the Food and Beverage industry preferred.

Relevant food health/safety licensing qualifications (Food Handlers Permit).

Possess a valid Driver’s License and be insurable to comply with Company Vehicle Policy.

Perform other duties as assigned by Manager.
