Successful, well-established private optometry practice is looking for a full-time optician/optometric technician. Candidate preferably has at least one year optician/optometric technician experience but we will train an individual who has exceptional customer service skills, is self-motivated, and works well as part of a team. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Record patient medical histories and help prepare patients for vision examinations
Perform preliminary examination of patients such as visual acuity, pupil reflexes, visual field testing, pressure inside the eye, and blood pressure
All aspects of optician responsibilities including: frame selection, fitting patients with appropriate prescription lenses, eyeglass repair and adjustments, educating patients on proper care and use of prescribed contact lenses
Maintain merchandise inventory, clean and straighten displays and office
Provide support to the front desk staff including answering phones, scheduling appointments, and patient collections
Requirements:
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations
Strong customer service skills
Strong communication skills both verbally and in writing
Feeling at ease educating patient's on their options
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Strong math and computer skills
Minimum of one year experience preferred
Professional attitude and appearance
Washington State MA Registration license required after hire (expense reimbursed by employer after 90 days in good standing)
