Position Purpose:

The Pool Service Technician is responsible for maintaining the swimming pool and hot tubs on the Tetherow Resort property, ensure all are operating effectively and in compliance with standards. The person in this role prevents and responds to facility related emergencies in a professional, calculated, service oriented and prepared manner.

Essential Functions:

Test swimming pool and hot tub water pH and chlorine levels

Add acid, chlorine, and other chemicals to correct pH level

Clean swimming pool using authorized equipment

Replace globes in underwater light fittings

Fix cracks or leaks in the swimming pool structure

Fit and repair pipes and plumbing for spas and pools

Complete paperwork and report service requirements to management

Complete daily rounds, identify and report problems and respond to guests and work orders in a timely manner

May be required to complete Pool Maintenance Certification Training

Competencies/Education/Experience:

High school diploma or equivalency degree

Minimum one year of experience as a Pool Technician; experience in a hospitality environment preferred

Knowledge of proper pool and hot tub cleaning and maintenance methods

Extensive knowledge of swimming pool and hot tub chemicals and their properties

Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing

Ability to give consistent and phenomenal guest service

Demonstrated ability to work well independently, and in a task-oriented, team environment, developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and reinforcing them over time

Proven ability to work under pressure and deal with stressful situations during busy periods

Ability to:

- stand and sit for extended periods, often for a minimum of 2 hours at a time

- have general dexterity for firm and simple grasping of objects

- periodically kneel, reach, crawl, and twist torso as needed to accomplish required tasks

- lift and carry up to 50 pounds without assistance and a maximum of 140 pounds with assistance

The functions of this role are typically completed in an indoor/outdoor environment, subject to changing conditions, including high temperatures or inclement weather, and yes, you will likely be interrupted while working
