At CDS, we specialize in turnkey services including brand and logo development, decor design and fixture planning as well as project management and manufacturing. Working with our design team and as an individual, this candidate will create graphic elements, décor, way-finding & signage for grocery and retail spaces. They may also design and develop retail fixturing and P.O.P. displays. As needed they will help craft and document brand standards & platforms for retail and grocery clientele.

Qualifications:

Relevant experience in design related field or position. Requires experience with environmental or commercial 3-D design such as fixtures/millwork, décor and/or tradeshow booths.

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Proficiency with the latest Adobe Design Software Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat),

Sketchup (or other relevant 3d modeling software). Knowledge of; AutoCAD, Internet/Web software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software preferred.

Exceptional customer service skills and ability to work independently.

Must possess excellent verbal and written communications skills.

Ability to multi-task and work in a creative team environment as well as functioning as an individual project lead.

Must be detail-oriented and set high standards for accuracy.

Strong interpersonal, organizational, analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills required.

Ability to perform under tight and often shifting deadlines. Capable of effectively working with a full slate of projects within an established process.

Essential Duties:

Confers and reports to Director of Design & Client Services & Creative Director.

Partners with Client Manager(s) and clients to determine scope, schedule, architectural preferences, purpose and function of environment.

Helps determine budget, types of construction, equipment to be installed, and factors, which affect planning of environment(s).

Reviews and interprets plans, shop drawings and architectural documents furnished by clients. Extrapolate

and employ relevant information for the duration of projects.

Responsible for conceptualization and design of concept and graphic applications including collateral material, environmental graphics and corporate identity, from concept to completion. This may include design boards.

Advises client on interior design factors such as mood, color scheme, material finishes, space planning,

layout and utilization of furnishings and equipment.

Prepares conceptual sketches or diagrams, by hand and/or computer.

Carries designs through to completion as directed by the Creative Director and Client Manager(s).

Renders and prepares final design ideas in form of sketches, drawings, illustrations or renderings using

Adobe Illustrator, Sketchup or similar applications.

Selects material requirements for final design boards and documents the corresponding information in the

form of schedules, plans and elevations for architects.

Coordinates and develops full project drawing packets in the form of PDF or PowerPoint presentations for the Client Manager(s) to present to the customer for approval.
