Job Description: Our company is looking to add a full-time member to our design/fabrication team. The right candidate will be self-motivated, organized, demonstrate flexibility, and possess sign construction problem-solving skills. You will play a significant role in interacting with customers both face-to-face in the shop, on the telephone, and via email. You will also provide sign production and occasional install support as needed. Everyone operates and maintains a variety of production equipment including a large format printer, laminator, vinyl plotters, CNC, and laser. We also all operate a variety of power tools including, but not limited to a panel saw, table saw, cutter, drill press, and an endless parade of power tools. Our production environment demands time management skills, problem solving abilities, and accurate processing of details. This position requires that you be able to process and communicate project details received from customers to other team members resulting in the production of complex projects that satisfy the customer's original specifications.
Important note: If you are looking for a designer position where all day is spent at a computer station keep looking because no one does that here. We design, plan, build, work with customers, organize, learn, teach no one just sits and designs.
Job Requirements:
Verifiable successful history of sign industry related experience.
Demonstrable high level of proficiency in Adobe (Fluency in Illustrator, Working Knowledge of Photoshop).
Familiarity with InDesign, Scanvec Products, and RIP Software is valued.
Excellent illustration and graphic design skills.
Good problem-solving skills, and ability to prioritize and multi-task in a production graphics environment.
Verifiable history of successfully translating customer's project instructions into a clear, accurate format for production personnel
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to deliver and receive information in a clear and respectful manner to fellow team members, customers, and vendors.
Superior spelling skills and ability to perform accurately a variety of mathematical operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, calculate area, ruler/tape measure)
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrate responsibility and accountability in recognizing and accomplishing all tasks where there is a direct job responsibility
