We are looking for a qualified and motivated Material Handler for our Ridgefield, Washington branch. A successful candidate will have shipping and forklift experience, a can-do attitude and ability to work with others. If this sounds like you, we may have a spot for you in our company!

Perkins Pacific is a master distributor of Perkins engines with full-service dealers throughout the Western United States. Perkins Pacific provides new and re-manufactured Perkins engines for more than 160 original equipment manufacturers, offering best-in-class engines for material handling, agriculture, construction, mining and industrial uses. We operate the largest diesel engine re-manufacturing program in North American and have re-manufactured Perkins engines for more than 20 years.

Requirements:

Receive and process incoming shipments from freight carriers

Process and prepare outgoing shipments (print shipping labels, box, package, band, freight charges, etc.)

Assist and prepare for heavy freight and shipping and receiving loads

Unload customer core engines

Pull and stage Perkins engines and Allison transmissions for service dept

Breakdown cardboard & move to recycling

Monitor inventory of shipping boxes and order as needed

Assist in cycle count reconciliation when needed

Process/scan shipping docs onto storage drive for document retention records

Clean and organize work area throughout day

Close shipping area at end of day (this may require overtime)

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).

Six months of warehouse/shipping experience.

Previous experience with operating a forklift.

Beginner-Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office, Excel, and the internet.

Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to be fork lift certified.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to safely operate equipment (forklift, hyster, manlift and possibly others)

Sitting, standing and walking for extended periods of time

Climbing, balancing, stopping, pushing and kneeling

Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 lbs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.

Repetitive motion with fingers, wrists, and hands

Ability to communicate both verbal and written

Hearing and seeing
