Description:This project is Customer’s vehicle connectivity service to allow their customers or fleet managers to access operational information on their Products. A Portal and Mobile App is the main point of entry for Customers or Fleet Managers to access the data from Customer vehicles.
Customer Project is divided into five Scrum Teams focused on different services:
Remote Diagnostics
Analytics Services (Fuel Efficiency and Safety)
Vehicle Connectivity
Contract Management
Each of these self-sufficient teams is responsible for their Front-End, Data Access APIs, IoT Data Streaming, Analytics Engines and in some cases the On-Board components.
This role is with Vehicle Connectivity service.
Requirements:Candidates will need to have experience in the following fields:
Must-have’s:
Experience working with embedded linux, for automotive in particular (a lot of the development issues we are tackling happen at the interface with the linux layer and jvm)
Experience with Java for embedded use cases (where cpu and memory performance are key design drivers)
Nice-to-have’s:
Experience with mobile development and mobile device tech.
Experience with BT and wifi development
Strong experience in Java & J2EE Development
Ability to produce content with a high-degree of autonomy
Experience with mobile Application Development (Android/iOS)
Experience with Java micro-services
Experience working in an agile software development environment
Experience with Apache Big Data Applications (Hadoop, HBASE, Kafka, Storm)
Preferences:Bachelors in Computer Science / IT / IS or related fields
Job Responsibilities:Candidates will be responsible for:
Take ownership of embedded platform applications on truck systems
Retrieve, aggregate, and analyze real-time data used to power telematics services for customers
Refactor codebase for testability, perform root cause analysis to determine hidden bugs
Increase performance
Decreasing memory usage of the application
