About the Role
We are currently looking for a lead carpenter to join us on a full-time basis, averaging around 35-40 hours a week to start. Experience in high-end residential remodeling is essential to excel in this role, and equally important is the right attitude and mindset– namely, a passion for craftsmanship and design, a desire to always be learning and taking on new challenges, a strong work ethic, and a positive mindset. This role can lead to a site supervisor or project manager position for the right candidate.
Responsibilities
Perform carpentry and construction-related tasks accurately, efficiently and with minimal supervision, including framing and fine finish carpentry.
Maintain a clean and organized job-site.
Communicate and cooperate with team members and clients in a respectful, positive manner.
Oversee the work of apprentice/journeyman carpenters and assist in their education.
Requirements
5 years minimum of remodel construction experience. New construction + other woodworking experience is also appreciated.
Have reliable transportation to and from work. Pickup truck or work van strongly preferred.
A professional set of all hand and power tools required for remodel work.
Be willing to travel to job-sites in and around the Portland metro area
Be punctual and professional in appearance
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Preferred but not required:
Ability to tow a tool trailer.
An interest in Japanese carpentry and design
Compensation
$35-40/hour depending on experience.
