Roseburg VA Health Care System's Homeless Programs and works under
licensed Social Work staff to provide assistance services to
veterans who are homeless and those at risk for homelessness. The
SSA will work with veterans who are eligible and participating in
HUD/VASH, or other community based Support Housing programs.
Supervised, the SSA will serve as a case manager providing direct

Performs a wide variety of duties under the direction of
professional licensed social workers
Assists veterans in articulating personal goals for accessing
community resources, housing and pursuing employment and
training opportunities
Supports veterans in identifying individual strengths and goals
Utilizes and teaches problem solving techniques
Supports veterans' vocational choices and assists them in
choosing a job that matches their strengths
Assists veterans in building social skills
Serves as a recovery agent by providing and advocating for any
effective housing programs and services that will aid the
veteran in daily living
Assists veterans in developing empowerment skills and combating
stigma through self advocacy

QualificationsTo qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements
by the closing date of this announcement, 09/23/2019.Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal
employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks
must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of
this announcement. For a GS-8 position you must have served 52 weeks
at the GS-7. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must
have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your
