Join a restaurant in Roseburg that has been perfecting their pizza, burgers, sandwiches, pub grub, and a full bar since 2009. This restaurant has been voted the Best Pizza in Douglas County for 6 years straight, and is a veteran-owned and family-run business.
Responsibilities:
Prepare basic components of each dish on menu using proven recipes
Memorize and utilize serving portion sizes and all basic meal prep procedures used in kitchen
Ensure that the kitchen, all food prep areas and all food storage areas meet restaurant cleaning standards
Ensure that all product is put away in its appropriate place
Work with team of cooks to do portion prep work for other shifts when needed
Work independently at times when needed
Monitor product freshness and rotate out old product based on a schedule created by the restaurant
Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies
Prepare food for service (chopping vegetables, butchering meat, preparing sauces)
Cook menu items in cooperation with rest of kitchen staff
Clean up station and take care of leftover food
Stock inventory appropriately
Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
Ideal candidates have the following skills and experience:
At least 1 year line cook experience in a restaurant
Commitment to impeccable food presentation and garnishing
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment
History of being punctual, having good work attendance, and mutual team respect
Ability to work swing shift, starting as early as 1 pm and ending as late as 10 pm
Ability to work shifts from Thursday through Sunday evenings
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
Ability to work in an environment subject to fluctuations in heat, humidity, fumes, odors, dust, and noise
Ability to work quickly and efficiently with a great attitude
Ability to work in a physically demanding environment
This is a part-time position located in Roseburg, OR with a wage of $10.50/hour to start. Knowledge gain on the job will earn raises quickly, potentially making $2-3 more per hour within 6 months. Pre-employment drug screen and background check is required.
