JOB DESCRIPTION:
Cut and trim meat, poultry and fish to size for display or as ordered by customer using hand tools and power equipment. Operate grinder, meat slicer, cubing machine, and power saw. Clean and cut fish and poultry. Shape, lace, and tie meats cuts by hand, using boning knife, skewer, and twine to form roasts. Place meat in containers to be wrapped by other workers. Place meat on trays in display counter. Clean work area. Unload meat from delivery truck and store meat into refrigerator. Wrap and weigh meat for customers and collect money for sales when required. Operate sausage stuffer or smokehouse equipment. Work in refrigerated area.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/SKILLS:
Must be 18 years of age.
Use basic math to measure and estimate material quantities.
Cut and trim meat, poultry and fish to size.
Keep work station clean and sanitary.
Take customer orders.
Lift and handle bulky materials and products.
Stock display cases.
Weigh, wrap and price merchandise.
Excellent Customer Service skills.
Complies with company safety guidelines and standards.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described below are those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions for this job:
Work in a standing position for up to 8 hours a day.
Use hands, arms, and fingers to handle tools or operate power equipment
Lift up to 10 pounds on a regular basis, up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis, and up to 75 pounds occasionally.
Carry up to 10 pounds on a regular basis for a distance of 50, up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis for a distance of 10 feet and up to 75 pounds for a distance of 10 feet occasionally.
Push up to 100 pounds for a distance of 50 feet.
Pull up to 50 pounds for a distance of 50 feet.
Stoop, kneel, crouch and/or crawl
May be required to use ladders and/or stairs
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
An employee may encounter certain work environment characteristics while performing the essential functions of this position. They may include but are not limited to:
Extreme cold
Wet or humid conditions
