Pediatric office is recruiting for a full-time Medical Assistant to work in our busy clinic. The right candidate would be good with kids, energetic, able to follow directions, detail-oriented, a team player, and able to prioritize work appropriately. Candidate does not have to be certified, but must have the ability to become certified within 3-6 months from the date of hire.

Position Overview: To assist physicians and other staff members in the delivery of primary pediatric health care and patient care management.

Essential Job Functions:

Escorts patients to room and assists in determining medical problem.

Evaluates patient triage information

Prepares patients for examination and treatment by taking medical history and vital signs.

Prepares exam rooms and instruments for examination and/or testing and stocks supplies as appropriate.

Assists with the referral and discharge process.

Instructs patients and family regarding medications and treatment instructions given by physicians.

Gives injections and/or applies splints or dressings as instructed by physician.

Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Proficient computer skills.

Knowledge of medical practice and care to assist in giving patient care, 2-3 years relevant experience.

Current healthcare level CPR certification.

Certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants and/or graduation from a MOA program preferred.

Skill in taking vital signs.

Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with physicians, patients, and co-workers, both written and verbally.

Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.

The positions is full time, with benefits (medical, dental, 401k, PTO) after probationary period.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $13.00 to $15.00 /hour to start
