Accounting Manager

What Matters Most:

8+ years of accounting, payroll, and full charge bookkeeping experience

Proficiency with MS Office and dealership management systems required

Organized with excellent attention to detail and a 'can-do' attitude

Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required

Your New Role:

Our client, Salem Harley-Davidson, is seeking a seasoned Accounting Manager who has direct experience with auto, motorcycle, or truck dealerships. Learning the job is expected to initially require 50 hours per week for about the first year. It is expected that as tasks are learned and you become more efficient that the time required to perform the job would be less. An organized, efficient, and well-trained person can complete the job in close to 40 hours per week. In addition to the normal accounting functions of managing cash, receivables, payables, and reconciling accounts monthly, this position deals with processing of:

Vehicle sales and financing transactions with customization parts and labor, deal add-ons, trade-ins, payoffs to lien holders, and down payments

Paying off the flooring when floored vehicles are sold

Credits for vehicle holdback and various sales incentives

Finance and insurance sales and contracts, including Extended Service Plan transactions

Cancellations of insurance and service plan contracts with refunds to customers or lien holders

Invoices for vehicles, parts, accessories, and general merchandise

Quick payments, check runs, tax payments, voids, and edits

Warranty credit memos for vehicle and non-vehicle claims and payment variances

Dealer trades and transfers - floorplan swap or check for check

eFunds, chargebacks, and other variances including explanations

Transmittal of dealership data to corporate office via electronic dashboard
