NOW HIRING FOR AN ACCOUNTING CLERK (Salem, Oregon)

We are now hiring for an accounting clerk in the Salem area. This is a fulltime position, Monday through Friday. We are a team of dedicated individuals focused on improving the lives of others. We have six locations in the Willamette Valley, our focus is helping people with disabilities. We are looking for someone who is passionate about helping others to join our accounting team.

We are looking for a motivated, self-starter who is looking to work for a forward moving company, where you are able to learn and grow, and become a key member of the team.

JOB SUMMARY

The Accounting Clerk performs a variety of accounting duties according to established policies and procedures. Maintains contact with staff, vendors and clients and observes confidentiality of client and firm matters.

• Utilizes computerized accounting software programs to perform duties and responsibilities

• Generate reports as needed

• Researches receipts, invoices, etc. as needed

• Develop and maintain spreadsheets as needed

• Operate office equipment, including personal computer, copier, fax machines, 10-key calculator, etc.

• Organize and maintain records

• Data entry duties

• Assist with accounts receivable and accounts payable as needed

• Organizes and maintains retention files for required period of time.

REQUIREMENTS

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required, college level accounting classes or Accounting Degree is a plus.

• At least 6 mos. to 1 year of verifiable, hands-on experience assisting in an accounting department

• Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel

• Ten-key by touch

• Good mathematical skills

• Previous experience using and maintaining spreadsheets and automated accounting systems is a plus

• Ability to sort, check, count, and verify numbers

• Ability to self-manage

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and oral

• Excellent grammar, spelling and proof reading skills, desired

• Ability to stay on task, and prioritize daily duties

• Ability to demonstrate good common sense and sound judgement

• Flexibility to adapt to all situations and/or work varied hours, if needed

• Ability to perform at high a high-level in a fast paced, ever-changing, work environment

• Ability to anticipate work needs and follow-through with minimum direction

Starting pay rate is $12-$13 per hour, depending on experience.
