UPS Store Sales and Customer Service Associate

Compensation: $12-$14 depending on experience and if bilingual with bonuses bi-weekly and monthly.

Employment Type: 20-25 hr per week

The UPS Store Market Street is hiring a part-time Customer Service Associate. We are specifically looking for someone who can work Wednesday-Saturday closing shifts.

We are a small, locally owned business, and we are looking for candidates who are excited to learn and grow with us.

Our ideal candidate is highly motivated, with a positive attitude, and thrives in a fast-paced, high volume environment. The ability to quickly and accurately operate a Point-of-Sale System is key, as is the ability to remain calm and focused under pressure.

SUMMARY: The Part-time Center Associate is responsible for delivering world-class customer service to all retail customers. He/She receives and processes packages for courier shipment, operates copiers, fax machines, binding equipment, laminating machines, and point-of-sale devices. The Associate expertly advises our valued customers by providing accurate information on our array of products, services, and best-value options. The Associate exhibits confidence by knowing best practices as related to the industry. The ideal Center Associate candidate will have retail sales experience, strong computer and internet skills, a high school diploma/GED, a friendly and genuinely helpful demeanor, a professional appearance, and will be a fast learner who makes an effort to learn all aspects of the business in the shortest possible time.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Greet customers in a friendly manner; determine customer needs while looking for opportunities to exceed expectations.

Deliver exceptional customer service through customer engagement and quality product delivery.

Be knowledgeable of products and services offered and promote them to customers.

Operate Printers/copiers, fax machines, binding equipment and other office machines in a safe, efficient and productive manner.

Help customers operate office machines located in retail area.

Receive and prepare documents for printing.

Ability to learn /operate software packages.

Receive, sort and place mail in mailboxes accurately.

Record sales transactions completely and accurately in Point of Sale system.

Pack contents for shipping using established procedures and products.

Receive and process packages for shipping, including lifting and weighting packages and generating labels. This may require retrieving packages from customer's vehicle when requested.

Process and document damaged shipments, late and lost package claims.

Assist in merchandising the store, this can include - stocking shelves with product, ensuring clean and orderly appearance of product, informing appropriate personnel of inventory levels for re-ordering supplies.

Perform end of day duties: reconciliation of cash, checks, money orders, credit cards, and all other transactions accurately and in accordance with company policy and procedure.

General housekeeping duties.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience:

High school diploma

Customer service/ sales experience highly desirable.

Point of Sale ("POS") and computer experience highly desirable.

Ability to learn new software highly desirable.

Language Skills:

Ability to use tact and diplomacy to maintain harmonious relationships with customers and associates in person and over the phone.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Bilingual is preferred and is eligible for a shift differential.

Other Skills and Abilities:

Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly.

Ability to stand for extended periods of time.

Manual hand dexterity required to operate POS, copiers and binding machinery, packaging tools, and complete customer paperwork.

Skills in printing services is a plus!
