CAD Specialist Position with Forward-Thinking Company

This position requires creating and/or updating part and assembly drawings, schematics and layouts as needed in support of engineering design and development of wiper electro-mechanical systems and DC gear motors. Working closely with engineering, applications and others, you will use a detail-oriented approach to create technical drawings or wiper layouts based on information obtained from specifications, sketches, or customer data. Much of the work is completed with minimal supervision and may require working independently to ensure that assigned tasks are completed to meet required deadlines.

About the position:

Obtain working knowledge of companys products and specifications to enable accurate selection of components for customer specific applications.

Create CAD drawings following conventional engineering and AME drafting standards and practices.

Act as an engineering representative to the Manufacturing floor to quickly make corrections to production drawings and documentation as necessary.

Under the direction of Engineering, create, update, and maintain Drafting Standards reference documentation used by all CAD users to maintain organization wide consistency of CAD prints.

Generate 3D CAD models to send to customers as well as perform fit checks for the customer when needed.

Prepare bills of material and specifications for completed drawings.

Respond to Manufacturing requests for information, including CAD data and digital documentation.

Create New Part Release Order (PRO) forms to create new parts.

Create, deliver, and receive Revision Change Orders (RCOs) for revised parts and/or assemblies to inform customers and customer representatives.

About you:

Thorough knowledge of CAD practices and standards.

Mechanical experience and experience using basic shop tools.

AA/AS in computer aided design or 5+ years equivalent experience in a similar technical role.

Basic mathematic aptitude, especially in reference to trigonometry.

3D CAD modeling (Autodesk Inventory preferred).

Ability to read mechanical and electrical blueprints, and possess a solid understanding of basic electrical and mechanical systems.

Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.

Customer Service or Sales Support experience.

Strong ability to clearly communicate complex technical information with both technical and less technical audiences.

Ability to multitask and change priorities effectively to meet customer expectations and deliver on company business objectives.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Proficient knowledge of PC applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Ability to work independently with little supervision.
