We specialize in heavy civil construction projects including commercial, residential, roadway construction and bridges, wet utilities, mass excavation and all types of earthwork and utility projects.
American Underground is searching for an experienced, committed, career minded mass excavation & utility Chief Estimator to be part of our growing team in our area. Our ideal candidate will be a team player who is highly motivated with a strong work ethic and desires to be part of a skilled construction team and assist in leading our company to the next level of growth!

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES:
Production of complete and thorough project bids with clear understanding and knowledge of competitive pricing
Complete understanding of excavation methods, contracts and specs
Knowledge and Experience with Blue Beam Software
Project Management of awarded contracts, utilizing strong business communication skills and professionalism with AU employees, general contractors and project owners.
Able to make quick, stategic decisions and to plan and look ahead
Provide efficient time managment with forming change orders and necessary project adjustments.
Thorough, on time invoicing of awarded projects
EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE:
5+ Years of proven working experience in the civil construction/utilities industry
5+ Years of Project Estimating Experience
BS or AS Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field a plus
