South Valley Engineering is a small engineering company located in Salem, Oregon and has been serving the northwest since 2008. In that short time we have established a broad and loyal client base that is continuing to expand as more and more people discover us through the internet and referrals from satisfied customers. We are looking to bring on more team members to allow us to continue to serve our clients and maintain our excellent reputation. We work very hard at being a company with an exceptional culture of integrity and strong work ethic, while being a place where people matter; not just our clients, but our team members as well.
Responsibilities:
Performs drafting and design work for building components of post-frame and standard wood frame construction projects using AutoCAD LT
Producing plans from information provided by clients using established internal drafting procedures and engineering calculations
Has the ability to work in a fast paced environment with minimal supervision
Has the ability to read, interpret, and draft new and modify existing AutoCAD drawings
Working effectively and efficiently both independently and as a part of a team
Must have a strong willingness to learn drafting and structural design, along with an ability to learn quickly and have the initiative to further their knowledge of engineering and construction on a consistent basis.
Must have a high degree of attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications:
High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
Basic computer knowledge with Microsoft Office, i.e. Word and Excel is preferred
Basic knowledge with AutoCad or AutoCad LT preferred, but would be willing to train the right person (3-D CAD experience not required)
Experience in wood frame and/or post-frame construction desirable
Excellent and professional communication skills, both with colleagues and with the general public
Enjoys people and has a sense of humor!
