POSITION SUMMARY:

A Project Engineer for Stettler Supply Company is responsible for construction schedules, submittals, requests for information, contract changes, and billings. The Project Engineer is also responsible for the solicitation of quotes and subbids. The Project Engineer helps the senior estimator/project managers with various other estimating and project management duties. The Project Engineer is responsible for keeping the project managers and general manager informed regarding the status of his/her projects.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

- Responsible for the solicitation and procurement of quotes and sub-bids

- Responsible for reading and interpretation of spec books and plans on projects

- Ability to take-off plans to develop an accurate list of the materials, parts, pieces, etc.

necessary to build an assigned project.

- Familiarity with formal bidding procedures; ability to conform to formal bidding procedure

- Familiarity with bonding, lien releases, change order procedures, construction scheduling,

punch list handling, O&M requests and project close-outs.

- Familiarity with permit procedures and code requirements

- Ability to calculate mathematical formulas to determine appropriate slope, fall necessary for

adequate flow, materials necessary of areas of fill/compaction, etc.

- Ability to calculate accurate billing documents and calculate retention

- Ability to write business letters which convey the position of Stettler Supply Company to

whomever the letter is addressed

- Ability to create and maintain good working relationships with co-workers, management,

vendors, owners, developers, governmental agencies and customers

- Ability to work without supervision and take individual responsibility for job duties

- Responsible for devoting adequate time to each project and adhering to the policies and

procedures established by Stettler Supply Company

OCCASIONAL REQUIREMENTS (NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

- May occasionally be asked to run errands for the Company

- May occasionally be required to attend meetings unrelated to specific projects

- May occasionally be asked to represent the Company at public/civic events

REQUIRED SKILLS:

- Good math skills

- Good computer skills

- Excellent communication skills (both oral and written)

- Independent thinking skills

Stettler Supply requires passing of a pre-employment drug test.
