Unit DescriptionHave a craving for a new culinary career?$5,000 sign on bonus!Sodexo is seeking a driven Executive Chef 2 at LewisGale Medical Center in beautiful Salem, Virginia. Lewis Gale Medical Center is a 400 licensed bed facility located just miles away from the quaint city of Roanoke, Virginia and a short drive to Smith Mountain Lake.The Executive Chef will manage all culinary functions for retail dining and patient services, while leading a team of 25 frontline associates.The typical schedule for this position is 9am-6pm Monday through Friday with a rotating weekend schedule (based on business needs)If you have a background in high-volume restaurants, catering or healthcare and have a passion for creating delicious tasting food , this position is for you!We are looking for candidates who will:manage the daily food production including production planning and controls;

ensure Sodexo Culinary Standards including recipe compliance and food quality;

manage food costing, controls and compliance;

develop menus and manage inventory;

have high expectations for customer service and quality of food;

have the ability and willingness to develop and train front-line employees;

have a passion for food and innovation;

have knowledge of special diets and allergens; and

knowledge of Sodexo Food Management System (FMS) is preferred.

The ideal candidate has:a strong culinary background, with the demonstrated ability to stay current with new culinary trends;

excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to maintain the highest of standards and implements company policies;

previous experience working in a high volume facility; and

strong management skills.
