18532BRTitle:Firmware ConsultantJob Description:Essential Job Functions
Contribute to NPI (New Product Introduction) Roadmap execution: lead cost-out project and virtual controller development
Support customers and engineering teams on questions on software and hardware interface
Identify impacts on software of hardware components evolution in LCI's.
Lead and Support testing of LCI's after manufacturing
Lead architecture design changes and implementation on embedded hardware platforms
Collaborate with other firmware/software and hardware engineers globally to develop and launch best in class products and solutions to market
Follow industry standard best practices in coding to ensure ease of use and maintenance
Support the development and maintenance of firmware development process and best practices within the team
Work closely with other embedded software engineers to mentor and drive best practices
Actively support and participate in design reviews
Provide innovative and creative solutions to enhance our products and feature set
Perform product validation and bug fixing.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s / Master's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent knowledge or experience
A minimum of 10 years of engineering design experience (software included)
A minimum of 10 year of relevant embedded firmware experience and device drivers design
Good understanding of firmware development life cycle
Experience with C / C on embedded hardware platforms
Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
Mostly Office Environments, Occasional Shop Floor involvement.
Substantial amounts of telephone and computer work.
Heavily Regulated Industries with strict adherence to procedures.
Flexibility to meet business deadlines by staying late or arriving early.
Typical 8 hour days plus lunch / 40 hour weeks / core (required) hours are 9 AM to 4 PM
Ability to use personal transportation to visit customer locations.
