Yamhill County has one regular, full-time position for a mental health therapist/QMHP (Qualified Mental Health Professional) to work as part of a transdisciplinary Early Assessment and Support Alliance (EASA) team in Community Support Services. The person in this position will provide community-based behavioral health support and services to youth and young adults ages 14-30 years old who are experiencing psychosis and support and services for their families as well. The primary services provided will take place in the community and will include community outreach and education, program eligibility screening, direct treatment services with assigned clients, mental health assessment, service planning and implementation, individual and group therapy, case management, crisis intervention, outreach services, and collaborative service documentation. This position will provide service to a broad-based population with complex needs in a recovery-oriented system of care. An MSW or master’s degree in a social services field from an accredited school is required in addition to:

HS Specialist II: One year of experience as a Human Services Specialist I. Any satisfactory equivalent combination of experience and training which ensures ability to perform the work may substitute for the above. Must qualify as a QMHP or CADC, to work in respective fields. May require licensing.

HS Specialist III: Three years post-master’s experience. Requires active professional license in the state of Oregon as a Qualified Mental Health Provider (QMHP) or must be a non-licensed QMHP with dual credentialing as a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC I, II, or III).

CADC is preferred but not required at hire; however, the expectation will be for the individuals in this position to be eligible to become a CADC Candidate and to complete the CADC I requirements within their first two years of hire. Must have an NPI number or be able to obtain one upon employment. Successful completion of a background check is also required.

The successful candidate will have working knowledge of techniques specifically related to community mental health services and the following abilities: to understand the behavior of people under stress; to develop and maintain effective cooperative relationships with clients and their families, the community, physicians, law enforcement agencies, the courts, and public and private administrators; to interpret community mental health and chemical dependency services, and to prepare concise and complete client treatment and progress records. Typing and computer proficiency is required for collaborative documentation. Additionally, they will have excellent communication skills, and will be dependable, organized, self-directed, detail-oriented, and possess the ability to work in a team environment and to interact with co-workers, clients, and the public in a courteous, professional manner.
