Home Instead is an in-home care company that enhances the lives of aging adults and their families. We strive to honor each client and provide quality care built on trust and respect. We offer companionship and personal services for clients needing help with activities of daily living, as well as Alzheimer’s disease/dementia care and hospice/palliative care.
We have an opening for a part-time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide a variety of duties with a focus on educational and medication training to Caregivers. This person will co-ordinate medication/changes for clients and assure communication with the Caregivers, PCPs, and pharmacies. The LPN will review all the medication forms for filing. There will be tasks that need RN oversight and direction.
This position requires travel to clients’ homes, administration skills, and teaching skills. The Salem Home Instead provides care in Marion and Polk counties.
We are seeking a dedicated nurse with a strong interest in geriatric care. Knowledge of in-home care regulations is a plus.
Necessary Skills:
Be a team player
Be able to establish good working relationships with administrative staff, clients, Caregivers, and community partners
Have teaching experience
Have excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to listen effectively
Computer aptitude is essential
The LPN will be responsible for implementing and following State and Federal regulations and company policies and procedures.
This will be a flexible schedule of approximately 10-25 hours a week with availability by phone. Most of that time will be spent in the office, and the LPN will make their own schedule for home visits that include client start-ups and any follow-up determined by client need.
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years’ experience as a nurse
Teaching experience
Must have current, valid State of Oregon License to practice as an LPN
Hold current, valid Oregon Drivers’ license
