Mid-Willamette Valley Community Action Agency is seeking an HR Generalist to join our team of HR professionals in supporting our employees and our mission to provide needed support to our community. The HR Generalist will work closely with managers and the COO to implement and explain policies in addition to directing various human resources activities.

Job Duties:

•Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale and increase productivity & retention. Promptly responds to inquiries; works diligently to resolve issues when they arise.

•Communicates pertinent information to staff and management in a clear, concise and professional manner, while adhering to standards of confidentiality.

•Monitors and facilitates ongoing human resources processes with payroll, benefits, employee records, reports and HR workflow to assure compliance under all state and federal laws, including the timely and accurate completion of all human resources work.

•Supports human resources and payroll staff in tasks and duties as necessary, providing guidance and positive support to team members.

•Assists with the development and administration of programs, procedures, and guidelines to help align the workforce with the strategic goals of the company and best practices in HR.

•Assists the COO in implementing and explaining policy; directs and coordinates human resources activities, such as employment, compensation, performance management, leave of absences, workers compensation, disciplinary actions, benefits, trainings, and employment services.

•Attends professional Human Resource meetings to remain abreast of personnel laws, regulations, and best practices.

Qualifications:

•Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management, Business or a related field plus 3-5 years of progressive human resources experience; or an equivalent combination of education, experience and professional HR certification.

•Knowledge of state and federal labor laws/practices.

•Strong verbal and written communication skills.

•Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

•Solid math and analytical skills.

•Ability to plan, problem solve, reason and prioritize.
