Currently, we have open shifts Monday-Friday from 6 am to 3 pm, 30 to 40 hours a week.
The applicant will work in an industrial kitchen in SE Salem, Oregon making delicious and healthy nutrition bars for a growing national brand, LivBar (Liv Foods, Inc.).
Our master bakers (you) make the bars by hand and include measuring and preparing food to be mixed, baked, rolled, cut, and packaged.
Responsibilities
You will need to be able to accurately measure, weigh and prepare food ingredients used
to produce high-quality organic nutrition bars.
Work closely with warehouse and production personnel to make sure all raw ingredients are handled with care.
Setup and preparation of the kitchen work environment.
Understand and follow standard operating procedures with the oversight of a production manager.
Understand and abide by all safety requirements. LivBar is a nationally recognized SQF
certified facility (safe quality food) ranked in their highest tier.
Other tasks as assigned.
Job Requirements
As LivBar expands there are times where you may be asked to have schedule flexibility.
The nutrition bar industry can be cyclical and new large accounts can put a demand on production. We try to balance the load as best we can and at times there are all hands-on deck events where even the CEO and management team help make bars on the floor.
You will have to be able to work closely with our other master bakers and the LivBar team.
You will need to be able to use basic numbers and arithmetic to measure and calculate recipe ingredients. This includes add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. This isn’t rocket science, if you can make a triple batch of cookies at home from a recipe you’ve got this.
We do have multiple language speakers, but you will need to be able to communicate effectively in English for the most part. A number of our employees are bilingual in English and Spanish.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and squatting.
Use hands to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
Frequently required to talk, hear and communicate with others in English or Spanish
Must be able to read and understand recipes
Able to push/pull a pallet jack with a full load.
