Food Services of America is looking for a Buyer Assistant. The Buyer Assistant will partner with the buying team to assist in the day to day management of purchasing/buying.
Responsibilities
Run reports & execute a plan to manage item count in our chilled, dry, and frozen warehouse storage areas.
Review manufacture/vendor new items with Category Management, Buyers, & Bid Department.(if applicable)
Work with buyers and marketing coordinator for successful new item launches.
Make decisions that positively affect service levels and profitability.
Communicate openly with our sales team to build inter department teamwork and trust.
Must take a proactive approach when troubleshooting challenges.
Train to become proficient on our DPR / Evant purchasing system.
RequirementsQualifications
High School Diploma required. Associates degree or higher preferred.
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications: Word, Excel and Outlook.
Previous purchasing experience preferred.
Ability to act quickly and decisively in a fast paced, dynamic environment and be a catalyst for working collaboratively in a team oriented environment.
Exceptional analytical, planning, and organizational skills.
Must have successful work performance, demonstrate an ability to communicate effectively, work well with others, and exercise sound judgment and display initiative and innovation on the job.
Ability to pass a background investigation and drug test.
