LEGAL ASSISTANT/RECEPTIONIST WANTED
Our office is seeking a well-rounded, highly motivated Legal Assistant/Receptionist for our McMinnville, Oregon law office. The successful candidate would preferably have hands-on, law firm or professional office, work experience. Family law or civil litigation experience also preferred, but we will train the right candidate. This position offers an individual the opportunity to help implement policies and procedures and provides the candidate the chance to be part of a success-driven, vibrant team.
Our law firm represents a variety of clients from global corporations to small local businesses and individual clients in high-risk disputes across the state. The law firm also represents local clients, individuals, and entities from counties all across Oregon in a variety of legal matters, including family law and personal injury.
As a Legal Assistant/Receptionist with our law office, you will be involved in all aspects of important legal matters and will complete job duties assigned by our attorneys. The ideal candidate should be highly organized and have the ability to support our clients in a busy, fast-paced legal office.
Duties and responsibilities include:
Having the opportunity to be the face of our law firm as the first contact with potential clients
Scheduling appointments, court appearances, and mediation/deposition hearings
Maintaining attorney calendars and case files
Preparing and reviewing discovery packages, including disclosure statements, answers to Motions, and
production requests
Skills and educational background:
The successful candidate should:
Maintain effective and consistent communication with clients
Have excellent interpersonal communication skills and must be capable of handling clients through difficult
cases
Be able to work independently and as part of a team, and utilize a take-charge attitude to do what is needed
to make sure our clients are well taken care of at all times
Have the ability to thrive in a high-paced environment, providing exceptional organizational skills, juggling
priorities and understanding the importance of deadlines
Have some understanding, or the desire to learn, of family law rules of court, and the procedures for filing
pleadings within strict deadlines
Take initiative and welcome challenges
