We are currently seeking a high energy, hardworking District Sales Manager (DSM) to join our sales team at our Millersburg, Oregon Factory about 60 miles south of Portland, OR. The DSM sells homes manufactured by Palm Harbor Homes to builder/developers, communities, and retailers by performing the following duties.

Responsibilities:

Each DSM will be assigned a specific area in which to promote the sale of homes to all existing customers; and to grow market share to prospective retailers, builders and developers, and communities to the territory which they are assigned.

Each DSM will be required to maintain continuous communication through calls, electronic communication, and travel for in person visits on a regualar basis.

Each Regional Sales Representative will be expected to keep call records, trip reports, display model inventory, perform inventory inspections, sales trends, and provide necessary reporting the Sales Manager and/or General Manager upon request.

The DSM is expected to complete competitive product analysis quarterly, and strategically plan to maintain the highest quality and best selling display model home inventory as needed in each market area and segment.

DSM's are complete a pre-travel itinerary for territory travel to meet both existing customers and prospective New Points of Distribution (NPODs)

Following travel DSM's complete a road trip retailer contact and condition of inventory report to the sales manager.

Sales tools including catalogs, digital content, sales samples pricing sheets, and merchandising displays are provided by Palm Harbor Homes, distributed by the DSM, and maintained to be up to date and accurate to assist in the efficient quoting and selling of our homes.

DSM's regular daily duties include providing accurate price quotes for the cost of homes and options to the customers assigned to the DSM and managing the quotes that are completed by the sales coordinators that assist with sales support.

DSM's work full time at the manufacturing center sales office with exception when traveling in support of ongoing sales support, prospecting, and training.

Sales leads that are provided are expected to be followed up, and self generation of new sales opportunities is expected.

The DSM Promotes and explains all aspects of the homes design and construction, using samples, brochures, training and knowledge, and featuring model homes and the selling advantages.

Sets client expectations and provides estimates deliveries of home orders to customer keeping mind of current order backlog and the division’s production and delivery schedules.

Travels and provides own transportation keeping records of expenses and reporting back to get reimbursements.

Works with Sales Coordinators and Sales Consultants to keep account activities and literature up to date.

Investigates and resolves customer opportunities where customers expectations were missed and provides feedback to identify root causes and prevention measures.

Represents our company at trade shows, home shows and open house events to promote homes and interact with the public.

Demonstrate a good work ethic based on principles of honesty and integrity

Walk and evaluate homes they sell prior to shipping to clients to insure home meets our performance standards and customers expectations.

Qualifications:

Associates degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Valid drivers license and vehicle in condition ready to travel for business purposes, or ability to rent cars for business travel. Valid US Passport a plus.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

Effective ability to communicate orally or in written form effectively with co-management, internal, and external customers

Ability to work in a fast pace environment, switch tasks when needed, and react to continuous changes and product improvements.

Attention to detail with ability to meet deadlines.

Demonstrate the ability to anticipate and solve practical problems or resolve issues.

Ability to write reports, business correspondence, marketing materials, and procedure manuals.

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions and percentages.
