Valley Green Inc. in the Salem –Keizer area is looking for a full-time Spray Technicians that is experienced and knowledgeable in this specific field. ~Must Have At Minimum ~ 2yrs experience with spraying turf and foliage and have a current Laws & Safety License.
Job Type: We are looking for a fertilizer/chemical technician with knowledge of chemicals and plant identification of insect and disease. We offer Health Insurance, Aflac, Holiday Pay, Vacation Pay, Paid Sick Leave and 401K.
Full-time, Year Round Pay starts at $16 or more, but will DOE – plus commission on sales made.
Lawn and tree spray technicians are ground maintenance specialists who keep lawn, trees & flowerbeds healthy by eliminating unwanted insects and vegetation. This includes Treating trees, shrubs, flowerbeds and lawns with herbicides, insecticides and fungicides. Technicians will apply various pesticides, weed killers and insecticides to the area needed to be treated. You are dispatched from the main office and use company transportation to get to sites.
Experience/skills you will learn:
• Knowledge and ability to diagnose turf and plant issues.
• Plant identification skills
• Prepare and mix chemicals in a proper and safe manner
• Ensure a clean and safe environment for both self, fellow employees, and clients
• Operate light to heavy vehicles, tools and equipment in the application of various herbicides
• Safely apply chemical and fertilizing applications when needed and always within compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (such as EPA, Department of Agriculture, and Department of Environmental Regulation) and safety procedures
• Pass the Pesticide Applicator License exam (we pay for the classes, you will have to pay for the license part)
Must Have
• Minimum 3yrs experience applying pesticides, herbicides & insecticides. *Will Check all references*
• Current Laws & Safety License
• High school diploma
• Problem solving skills
• Basic computer/tablet skills
• Good with mathematics
• Interpersonal communications skills
• Independent worker & work well with other
• Organizational and time management skills
• Be able to work independently with little or no supervision
• Have a clean driving record & a valid driver’s license
• Reliable transportation to and from work
Physical Capabilities:
• Able to walk, bend, lift, pull and carry up to 50 lbs. in any kind of environmental condition
Valley Green is a small company, so technicians will need to be flexible with helping out with odd jobs such as shop and equipment maintenance
