Inventory Management Systems Analyst for a temporary and partially remote opportunity in Tigard, Oregon. Our client runs a distribution center warehouse where medical supplies are donated from hospitals, manufacturers and other donors and then packed into boxes and pallets and shipped to partners around the world to help people in need. The distribution center warehouse is run by three full-time employees and many volunteers. Our client is currently replacing a legacy on-premise Inventory Management System (IMS) built by CORE Partners with a web-based inventory management platform. The Inventory Management System Analyst temporary position will assist employees and volunteers with transitioning from the legacy on-premise software to using the web-based tool.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Support transition from on-premise legacy Inventory Management System (IMS) to web-based platform
  • Map processes in warehouse/distribution center to specific steps and attributes in the IMS tool including "Receive Pallet", "Build a Box", "Build a Pallet", "Move Pallet in Warehouse", etc.
  • Ensure system is intuitive and easy to use for volunteers - remove or automate unnecessary system steps such as sales order, invoice, purchase order, etc.
  • Ensure boxes and pallets can be tracked via unique ID and barcode that relates back to the system and can be integrated via scanner.
  • Configure tool including adding custom attributes, validation rules, workflow/approval steps and other changes such as item expiration date, country of origin, manufacturer.
  • Upload key data into cloud-based tool including list of medical supply (inventory items), companies/donors (organizations), etc.
  • Manage hardware setup, installation and configuration including label printers, scanners, and barcodes.
  • Setup Zebra label printers to work with web-based Inventory Management System (IMS).
  • Setup Zebra scanners to work with web-based Inventory Management System (IMS).
  • Setup computer workstations with access to printers, online tool, and other resources.
  • Update administration settings in web-based platform tool including user logins, security roles, etc.
  • Coordinate the resolution of escalated application, hardware, and software problems.
  • Create and update documentation related to inventory management system, business processes, training, and communication.
  • While performing the duties of this job, you are frequently required to sit and talk or hear. You may be required to walk; climb stairs; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands, and arms.


Qualifications:
  • Inventory Management System setup and configuration.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience working with an inventory management system to track inventory items, boxes, pallets, and equipment in a warehouse setting.
  • Experience with configuring and setting-up Zebra label printers, Zebra scanners.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience managing barcodes to track locations within warehouses.
  • Experience with box and pallet labeling and packing slips.
  • Technical degree in computer technology or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting on a year-for-year basis.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift 40 pounds.
  • Ability to operate well in a fast-paced work environment with dynamic teams of staff and volunteers.
  • Customer-oriented.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Requires frequent use of personal computer, including word processing, database programs; calculator, telephone, copy machine, and fax machine.


Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with training staff and volunteers with how to use a new tool.
  • Experience working with shipping and customs.
  • Experience with inventory management reporting and tracking.
  • Zebra label printer setup and configuration.
  • Zebra scanner setup and configuration.
