WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

The Commercial Loan Operations Boarding team is responsible for interpreting commercial loan documents and booking the loans to AFS. The position requires team members with above-average analytical and processing skills in order to support high-profile accounts. The new loan production has shifted to more complicated deals, in particular Syndication loans, which require a higher-level Senior Boarding Specialist who can interpret the complex documents and set up complicated loan structures.

The primary function of the Senior Boarding Specialist, Commercial & Wholesale Operations is loan/letter of credit booking, funding, payments, and maintenance for the defined lines of business, or executing related controls, utilizing the systems and processes defined by management. The incumbent handles analytical components (i.e., interpreting credit agreements) related to various loan/fee accruals, calculations as well as ongoing/ad-hoc reconciliation and remediation, for commercial loan/letter of credit products, which include new loans, modifications, and extensions.

Responsibilities

  • Creates and analyzes error reports, researching the payments log, and incoming wire transfer payments.
  • Ensures proper documentation is filed appropriately and is available for internal and external audits.
  • Identifies and resolves problems within established guidelines.
  • Performs dollar transactions, collateral setup and maintenance, GL balancing, and quality review.
  • Processes transactions involving booking and servicing commercial loans and letters of credit.
  • Researches and will respond to incoming commercial loan requests received from business areas supported by the department.
  • Research payment history, loan balances, and associated documentation including loan notes, forbearance agreements, and modifications.


Qualifications - External
  • Bachelor's Degree; in Business or equivalent field or equivalent work experience.
  • 3-5 years; Working knowledge in Company's documentation and banking operations.
  • Ability to adapt quickly and be a team player.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of other banking products and the ability to apply that information to this role.
  • Excellent organizational, management, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Expert knowledge of overall lending policies and procedures, credit analysis, underwriting, structuring, etc.
  • Requires excellent communication, good organizational skills, and attention to detail
  • Solid judgment within broadly defined policies and practices.
  • Solid knowledge/skills of Microsoft Office Suite and various bank systems.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office.
  • Strong knowledge of Syndicated and Commercial Loan products and markets.
  • Working knowledge in Commercial Banking.
  • Requires minimal physical effort such as sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Addresses customer's requests, ensures concerns are recorded accurately and action is initiated appropriately.
