Title: Sr. AWS DevOps Engineer Location: Fort Washington, PA Duration: Contract to Hire/Permanent Position Position Summary: The Senior AWS DevOps Engineer will be responsible for supporting Nutrisystem's technical stack of AWS environments across all applications and manage the resolution of applications and system issues that arise across the business. Candidates will quickly respond to technical problems that occur abruptly and requires immediate attention. Candidates should be proactive, motivated, organized, extremely flexible, take initiative, and work well within fast paced groups.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure all our AWS systems are secure, scalable, responsive, and reliable
Collaborating with on-call engineers to troubleshoot issues and minimize downtime
Benchmarking, analysing and reporting on and/or making recommendations for the improvement and growth of cloud operations and infrastructure
Develop and implement instrumentation for monitoring the health and availability of services including fault detection, alerting, triage, and recovery
Implementing appropriate logging, monitoring and reporting devops related capabilities
Support AWS RDS and Aurora Postgres and MySQL database performance, maintenance and troubleshooting
Maintain and enhance the Redis cache cluster working closely with the Dev team
Runbook development and train SL1/SL2 team members to decrease SL3 tickets amount
Participate in Team-Wide Change Management process as both implementer and verifier, ensuring changes are completed efficiently & correctly
Onboarding of New Applications into Standardized Release Pipeline
Verify data protection and disaster recovery capabilities through regular service restore tests
Use automation provision and configure infrastructure as a code Qualifications (Include Education and Specific Experience)
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experience
5+ years of relevant experience with different cloud technologies especially AWS
Must be an excellent team player working with multi-disciplinary teams (Developers, Architects, Operations and Testers) to fully automate and build out new application environments on the Cloud, spearheading automation and high performing system projects
Understanding of Networking Technologies like Load balancer, Firewall, VIP, DNS
Experience with designing and deploying AWS Services like Elastic Compute (EC2), ECS, ECR, Storages (S3, EBS, EFS, Glacier and AWS Storage Gateway), RDS and Aurora
Experience working in a team environment using a Source Configuration Management tool a plus (Subversion, GitHub, GitLab etc)
Experience with open sourced webservices environments (Apache, PHP etc)
Experience with APM monitoring tools like New Relic is required
Experience with AWS caching technologies is required
Experience with Terraform or Cloud Formation YAML scripting
Hands on experience with Continuous Integration & Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) tools and processes like Jenkins
Experience with supporting RDS and Aurora databases is required
Proficient understanding of container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
Adhere to the process and security standards when building application infrastructure in AWS
Serve as enforcer for DevOps practices to prevent "technical drift”
