We are working with an innovative Financial Services company focused on disrupting a segment of the industry that really needed it, with their leading-edge financial data and analytics software products. Much of their success comes from their belief that small, empowered engineering teams can do amazing things. Across the engineering organization, they work hard to make the best systems for their customers using modern engineering practices. Currently, they are growing the development team that supports their financial analytics system and they are looking for a full stack engineer with a focus on web technologies (javascript) to join the team and work to continue to build out the platform. This team is a highly collaborative unit (currently 4 people and growing) that is responsible for creating the web app and backend API for the financial analytics platform. They are growing in this space and looking to best their competitors through improved technology and user experience.
The work will be focused around adding features to the product continuously and iteratively. Much of the development will be in Javascript Currently they are using React on the front-end but will be moving to NextJS. The back-end is mainly node.js and the system communicates through APIs. This role will require an emphasis on collaboration with the other engineering and platform teams to develop, build, run and support the system architecture.
This position is currently a remote-work position (due to COVID), and if/when everyone returns to work, it would be ideal if this person could report into their office outside of Philadelphia. That said, there is most likely going to continue to be some sort of remote-work a majority of the time moving forward (post COVID), so there is flexibility there.
