BOOST is helping one of our successful clients hire an experienced Citrix NetScaler Engineer to join their expanding team! You should have solid, hands-on experience with configuring, managing, and troubleshooting Netscaler appliances and the interaction of Netscaler appliances with other network infrastructure. This is a full-time, hybrid position supporting a Pennsylvania state government agency and requires on-site availability in Harrisburg PA every other day.
RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Demonstrate extensive knowledge of load balancing technology including algorithms and health check options.
  • Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Netscaler appliances and the interaction of Netscaler appliances with other network infrastructure.
  • Support Netscaler appliances that front-end and load balance internet applications.
  • Utilize solid, hands-on TCP/IP network skills to diagnose and troubleshoot the Netscaler appliances as part of any network issues that are received by the customer's network team.
  • Engage and help diagnose response time issues for applications that pass through the Netscaler.
  • Leverage a working knowledge of firewalls and the roles that firewall rules play in the network for diagnosing and troubleshooting issues.
  • Serve as a SME on firewall rules and networks involving reverse proxies, VLANs and Virtual IP addresses.
  • Utilize a strong understanding of Microsoft Windows server operating systems, Microsoft IIS, and the Windows server environment to help diagnose and troubleshoot how the network could be a part of an issue.
  • Understand VMware virtualization and the impacts that it may have on planning and implementing firewall rules.
  • Discuss and document network issues with other IT systems support personnel and the network providers that deliver services to the remote locations.
  • Perform troubleshooting of web traffic related issues and cluster management.
  • Oversee redirect and response policy creation and administration.
  • Provide full administration of all Citrix NetScaler load balancing appliances.
  • Use networking techniques to implement appropriate IT security and isolation techniques across IT security zones.
QUALIFICATIONS

Experience/Knowledge Requirements (Candidates with classroom-only experience will not be considered)
  • Minimum of 5 years hands-on experience as a Citrix Netscaler engineer
  • Strong working knowledge of the following:
    • Device upgrade tasks
    • Content switch and virtual service administration
    • Access gateway administration
    • Hosting SSL certificates on Citrix NetScaler
    • Citrix NetScaler VIP configuration with health check
    • Citrix NetScaler responder policy configuration
    • Citrix NetScaler Access Gateway configurations
    • Citrix NetScaler content switching configurations
    • Citrix Application Firewall.
    • Reverse proxy and SSL VPN.
    • Scripting related to Netscaler.
    • Troubleshooting issues where the Netscaler is part of the network path.
    • Diagnosing and addressing end-user response time issues.
    • Load balancing including Server Monitoring and Load Balancing, Content switching and SSL offload techniques.
    • TCP/IP networking including Virtual IP addresses, VLANS, Reverse Proxy, DMZ, Network Address Translation (NAT).
    • Network troubleshooting, diagnostic, and resolution skills including network packet capture techniques, use of LAN sniffer technology, and network packet analysis.
    • Checkpoint firewalls including firewall rules, network security related to TCP/IP networks, and diagnosing network issues that may be related to firewall rules.
    • Microsoft Windows Server operating systems in an enterprise environment with more than 20,000 application users.
    • VMware as it relates to networking and IT security plans.
    • Hands-on experience with other networking technologies, like F5 will also be considered.

Personal Requirements
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
  • Ability to work non-standard hours, on occasion, to complete some of the network maintenance activities to avoid disrupting users or systems during the normal business
  • Ability to work a hybrid schedule (every other day on-site) in Harrisburg, PA.
